Radisys And Wind River Expand Partnership To Include Wind River Carrier Grade Linux Support

  • Radisys to support Wind River Platform for Network Equipment, Linux Edition
  • Partnership enables rapid development of Carrier Grade Linux (CGL) applications for telecommunication equipment manufactures and system integrators

HILLSBORO, Oreg. and ALAMEDA, Calif. February 14, 2005 — Today RadiSys Corp. (NASDAQ: RSYS), a leading supplier of advanced embedded systems and Wind River Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: WIND), a global leader in Device Software Optimization (DSO), furthered their partnership. Wind River Platform for Network Equipment, Linux Edition is being ported to the RadiSys Promentum™ ATCA 4000, a high performance, dual Intel® Xeon™ processor-based, general purpose computer processing module. This collaboration will enable telecommunication equipment manufacturers (TEMs) and system integrators to rapidly develop next generation Carrier Grade Linux (CGL) applications.

Wind River's Platform for Network Equipment, Linux Edition is Wind River's first platform that includes a complete Carrier Grade Linux operating system, a rich set of networking middleware and Wind River's development suite, Workbench. With Platform for Network Equipment, Linux Edition and Platform for Network Equipment, VxWorks Edition, telecommunications equipment manufacturers can develop and run the complete range of network equipment applications from core and enterprise to access and edge devices. Additionally, the RadiSys Promentum ATCA-4000 is equipped with dual Intel® Xeon™ processors, allowing high performance general purpose application processing capabilities required for today's complex telecom applications.
